Vipul has worked in capital markets for more than 20 years. He set up Magadh Capital in 2016 after working for more than twelve years in equity research with some large and well reputed investment banks (ten years with Morgan Stanley and before that, one year each with ABN AMRO and Motilal Oswal Securities) advising mutual funds, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds and PE funds on stock investments based on fundamental research in Indian metals and mining, cement and media sectors. Earlier in his career he had also worked with BASF India for one year in marketing, and with SAIL (Steel Authority of India Ltd) for six years in operations, maintenance and planning.

He has keen interest in history (including markets’), behavioural finance, economics and global geopolitics in general, and in specific topics like infrastructure development, poverty alleviation and human development in India. Vipul likes reading – especially non-fiction, loves music, and is an avid fan of Barcelona football club. He is actively involved in community development activities and regularly supports some good non-profit institutions.

Vipul holds a B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi and an MBA (Finance, Strategy) from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
